Welcome to March

I know everyone says this, but I really cannot believe we are already into March for 2022.
Did we not just ring in the new year, each of us hoping this year would finally be the year of some normalcy?
Now here we are, still probably looking through our journals where our best laid plans and hopes and dreams are laid bare and written out…..only to look at our calendars and see the date and think to ourselves:
”Well, crap.”
Or maybe you have truly made some attempts on those goals of yours, but the progress feels painfully slow. Give yourself some grace. It is literally March. You got this.
As I pursue a life that radiates, I am choosing focus on sub categories each month that reflect how I want my life to look this year. What do I want to radiate from me so others can see and be encouraged?

Perseverance is one of my favorite words in the human dictionary. Synonymous with grit and drive, the idea that no matter what happens to us and around us, we keep going.
In everything, we keep going.
In order to keep track of my goals for this gear, I purchased the PowerSheets from Cultivate What Matters. I wanted to have something in place to visually see my goals that I had envisioned for myself, and check off those boxes.
So satisfying checking off boxes. Anyone else relate? It also helps keep my brain in check because I have a tendency to be all over the place. Literally, my brain can go all over the place and then I wonder why I didn’t get anything done. I desire to do all the things and make big achievements. I also take disappointment in myself and from others really hard.
February was an excellent month for me personally and professionally. I shared about a couple of really cool opportunities I had to share my story and that was a highlight of my month.
Other times on my list? Not so much.
Did not run as much as I need to in order to prepare for my half marathon in May. That needs to be a priority. My health overall needs to be a priority.
The story I am writing was hardly touched, so will be focusing on that as well.
I was discouraged, at first. I am an achiever. I like to achieve and do well. But I also know and remember that I have been given another day, a brand new month to now focus on these things. Life isn’t over because I didn’t run 13 miles or write 5000 pages in my book.
Your life will not end if you do not hit your goal by your self imposed targets.
And that is what they are: self imposed. Granted, my half marathon race has a date. So if I want to be able to run without injuring myself, obviously, I must train my body. There is no way around that. But most of the goals and dreams we want to achieve are based on a timeline that we ourselves set. No one else. I guarantee you that no one is threatening you if you don’t meet that Deadline for your dreams.
By the way, the dream ends when you die. Lord willing, you will get to dream and set new dreams until your final breath. What is with the rush?
Have a plan, yes. I am all about planning. When it comes to want kind of life I want, I am not a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl. Give me an idea, a timeline, something to reach for, something to measure.
But it doesn’t have to be a hill we die on. Allow disappointment to shape you and show you what you are made of. Get gritty. Keep picking yourself back up when you fall on your ass. It happens to all of us.
So you didn’t do all that you intended in February. Or January. Okay. Fine.
Today is March 1st. Persevere through that. Regroup and get out there and start making your dreams a reality. Keep asking yourself what it is you want.
Then, ready, set…..GO!
Keep pushing through.
