We Raise a Hallelujah Up in This Place

One of the most significant things you can hope for as a parent is that your child will choose to follow Christ. With all that has been going on in my marriage, I have to tell you that I felt like such a failure in teaching and building up of our faith in our little household.
We still go to church. I have done my best to point them in the way they should go, but lately, I have been ever so grateful for the leaders my children have at their respective groups.
They have poured into our kids and loved them ferociously, and have encouraged this mama heart greatly, because sisters, I am a train wreck right now. I am not ashamed to admit it. It is a lot when the heart feels so heavy with the burdens of this world.
This past Sunday, my precious Madi girl decided to get baptized. She was surrounded by her family and her gaggle of friends and her leaders. Every time I watch a baptismal, I get emotional. It is such a huge celebration.
It even more so when it is your own kid.
Not because I did anything special. Train wreck over here, remember? My friend put it best when she texted me her and said “In the middle of the seemingly impossible God is with you.”
I was rejoicing and celebrating in my heart because as I watch my 13 year old teenager be submerged and then lifted back up to the surface, I knew God had my girl. He had our family. Satan was is going to win.
The enemy may be celebrating his tiny victory in the fact that my family is still broken, for now (always, always have hope in restoration. I absolutely believe that anything can be redeemed), but GOD STILL HAS US. We belong to Him.
And because I could watch this video over and over again, I will share it with all of you.
Raise a Hallelujah up in here!
Thank you Vantage Point Church and Ignite Junior High for your leadership and for your desire to be living proof of a loving God. We are so grateful to be a part of this community.
