Sneaky Fun

The title of this blog post is courtesy of a friend who called me "sneaky fun" and went on to explain that I didn't look like someone who would be fun. Hahahahahahaha!
You all should have seen my face when they said this.
Before you all come to my defense, there is a lot of context to this conversation and I was laughing when he said it. So no need to take out your pitchforks.
Just caught me off guard. It was not a phrase I had heard before.
Sneaky fun. Haha! I am for sure a fun individual.
Actually, I want to talk about ”Refresh” and what means to me currently.
Refresh.
Lately, refresh for me has meant to incorporate more fun in my life. Like a renewal of some sort.
When you are going through changes, and those changes happen to be rather challenging, it is easy to go to a place of being solemn and serious when we think of refresh...or renewal...or rest.
But I have discovered for myself that the word “refresh” actually has taken on the act of being and having fun. Circling back to Sneaky fun... as I am starting to understand....it means that after everything, there is still joy. There is still laughter. There is still silliness and excitement and hope for whatever it may be that we are hoping for.
There is a lot fun still to be had. Can I tell you that laughing so hard you can’t breathe has to be one of the most rejuvenating experiences. It lights up your whole body.
There is a time and place for being solemn and serious and quiet. Absolutely. Nothing wrong with that. I have had to really sit with my thoughts and feelings in solitude and practice this sort of refreshing of the mind and spirit.
But when I laugh? When I have fun? When I do things that bring my heart joy and I do them with people I love and adore having around....that is a very special type of rejuvenation.
Maybe Refresh can mean breaking free and having a little more enjoyment and laugh a little harder.....and wear cool kicks while you are at it.
Life has its rough moments. We all have our stories to tell. I am sure many of you reading this have your own messages and messes and heartache, etc. But I really do believe that there is good. That we can grasp onto joy and cling to it. That you can throw your head back and laugh with your friends and loved ones no matter what you may be facing. Laughter is good for the soul. So is fun. Please don’t stop having fun. There is so much to live for.
Rooting for you,
Tiffany Rhea
