It is Time to Glow Up!

Repeat after me, sister friends:

I Am Extraordinary. If I want to change something, say something, do something...I can.

I can Glow Up.

This has really hit me hard the last 24 hours, especially after experiencing a situation at work that made me angry. I tend to be physically reactive when I experience something that I believe to be cruel, illegal, or just plain unfair. I also have the tendency to start crying in frustration if I can’t express my anger out loud and confront people...because y’all, I am just trying to stay right with the Lord. (I think I may have yelled out loud in my office “this is illegal!”).

Hello. My name is Tiffany. I am an 8 with a 9 wing. #enneagramlife

If you are a woman who is thinking about making some changes in your life: health, career, relationships, finances etc. Allow me to share a few resources that I believe will help you glow up in whatever it is you are choosing to change.

Warning: This is going to require YOUR effort. This is going to require you to stop with whatever excuses you keep repeating yourself month after month.

Here is my motivation behind this post. Yesterday made me angry. I won’t share all the details. There will be no tea spilled here. But, yesterday made me angry and it also made me angry as I watched everyone else just accept what I believe was absolutely wrong and unethical. Simply because they didn’t want to say anything or cause a ruckus or because they believe it won’t change anything. That includes me. I chose not to say anything. But that stops today.

Newsflash: Yes things can change. You can change them. If you don’t like what is happening. If you feel disrespected or if your career isn’t fulfilling but you got bills to pay, let me tell you….you have a ton of options available to you.

If there is a will, there is a way. If you want it bad enough, time to get to work.

Just for you, I have created a space with my favorite leadership, business, relationship, faith books. I have either read them, or they are on my to read list for 2020. I am regularly adding to this list, so check often. Best thing ever: Most of my resources are from Amazon, so if you are a Prime addict like me, hello! 2 day shipping. (And all the women say “AMEN!”)

I am currently reading Everything is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo. I am obsessed with it already and with my current circumstances, it is absolutely helping me a great deal. I know it will help a great deal of you. You are fearless and extraordinary, remember?!

Next: Figure out what you want to do. It is fine, for now, if you have to have a job that pays the bills. There is no shame in simply working in order to feed your family. I repeat, there is no shame in just having a job in the meantime. If that suits you, girl, that is awesome. Work that job with excellence.

But chances are you dream of something a little more than just going to your 8-5 job. I know you dream of purpose, impact, service. I know you envision that you get to leave your mark on the world or that others see the heart behind your service. The majority of us desire to utilize our gifts and our voices for good and for purpose and for impact.

There are so many ideas. I currently have a side hustle in health and fitness, but my mission is to empower women like you to be fearless and do your thing. Health and fitness is fun for me. It is the impact work I am really after. (If you want to know more about being a part of my fearless tribe, email me at Coachtiffanyharper@gmail.com. There is space at the table for you and for your voice. No perfect body/exercise routine necessary…..just women who have heart and hustle.)

Decide what you are good at. You are good at something. It is not arrogant to admit your strengths in certain areas. I am pretty good at writing, making people laugh, empowering women to move their bodies and love themselves. I am not ashamed of it.

What are you good at? What would you like to do more of after you tell the negative Nancy in your head to be quiet because she keeps telling you that you can’t.

.

Yes you can.

I am rooting for you.

I am going to be raw with you and tell you that I have spent far too many years just staying where I am because I was told that that was what a good Christian pastor wife did. I realize that I am stating something rather vague, but I received a lot of hurtful advice in the past. I have had to reprogram my thinking and do a lot of things on my own because I didn’t have a choice. I found myself with a lot of broken pieces and a mess I had to clean up by myself. I either had to work, or I wouldn’t have survived (and our kids would have suffered). I don’t want the same for you. I really do not. It literally makes me angry when women say they can’t do anything about what they are going through. (So with all due respect, please do not send me text messages with your “biblical” advice when you know nothing of what I have gone through the last couple of years. I won’t respond to you.)

So I have decided that instead of just being angry, which let’s be honest, anger can get really unhealthy and exhausting after awhile, I have decided to channel that and make it my passion to empower and encourage other women to make the changes that are necessary. It doesn’t make you bad or selfish or not a go Christian. There are certainly sins, and we should repent of them and do better. But putting your foot down, setting boundaries to protect your heart, and dreaming big is not one of them.

I think it is important to remember that this is part of life. You do what you know. Then, once you know better, you do better. Thank you Maya Angelou for your wisdom. The glow up might be painful and you might learn some things about yourself, your relationships, your health, or your life that are just going to make you uncomfortable. But embrace that uncomfortable space, and get to work.

Rooting for you.

Tiffany
