While We Are On Pause

How are you doing?

How has it been for you and your heart lately? What are you doing for yourself and your kids in order to lessen the anxiety that you may be feeling inside your heart and head?

For us?

We aren't focusing a ton on school work, or even work. We are getting outside as much as we can. The kids are playing board games that require critical thinking and strategy.

We are reading more.

We are writing more.

We are connecting more.

We are probably more emotional and exhibiting more grace because emotions can become messy and complicated, especially when you are forced to spend time with the same people day in and day out.

But that is okay.

Get outside and enjoy more iced coffee than normal (this has been saving my life).

Workout and move your body as much as you can.

Read an uplifting book and share its message with those you love and those you want to hear.

Start a blog.

Start a new business.

Get up later than normal.

Write on mission. Start that blog or book.

Buy groceries and fresh flowers for yourself and for your neighbors in need.

Play board games (true story...I actually dislike board games. Don't @ me. But I will hang with you while you play and root you on!)

Organize your space. Make it pretty and comforting and a haven for yourself and your family.

Take a bath or have a family spa night.

Read your bible and create a virtual small group.

Go through a new bible study together with your family.

During this time, since we are all on pause, it is bringing to mind so many things that I wanted to do regularly, but my excuse was always that I didn't have the time. Now, we have the time. This won't last forever. I also know that one day soon, the majority of us will suddenly find ourselves overworked, underpaid, and stressed out and over scheduled again. We will again find ourselves complaining and wishing we could do these things but we are just too busy.

So can I encourage you for right now to take the time to reassess what is really important. Take the time to look at what your life was like before, with your busy calendar and all that came with it. Does it matter as much now?

Nobody really wants to be in a position where they are forced into staying at home. I know none of us want to be in a position where our jobs and livelihoods are at risk.

But I think I can safely say that most of us long for more family time. More connection with those we love. To feel less rushed, busy, hurried, stressed.

As we pray for this storm to pass, and to pass quickly, lets also discover, together the #blessingsdespitecovid19.

We are in this together. Praying for you all today.

In Him,

Tiffany
