Be Kind to Yourself in 2020

Who else has a list of resolutions written down for 2020?
Can you believe the end of one decade is upon us? I seriously love the New Year as much as I love Christmas.
Because Christmas, for me, means traditions, celebration, love and family and friends. It means generosity, Jesus, twinkling lights and cold evenings spent cuddling with your favorite people.
The new year represents fresh hope, possibilities, opportunities and a brand new beginning.
Some of us are looking forward to new beginnings. I am and I am sure you are too.
For 2020, here are a few things that I have dreamed up for myself and currently in the works:
*Begin the Barre Blend workout program to help my body feel stronger and supported after the emotional and stressful toll it has been through. A strong heart, mind and spirit is very important to me. Exercise is part of my equation to make sure my body has what it needs.
*Lead others through a book of the month through my #gfandoilsbookclub. We will be starting The Next Right Thing by Emily Freeman on January 1st, 2020 and I cannot wait to hear how God is leading these women.
*Serve at church either by leading a bible study, worship team, or volunteering for women's ministry. I have not served in local church ministry in a long time. That is going to change in 2020.
*Pay off the remaining debt I have (I don't have much) and rent a place of our own. Meaning we move out of my sister's home! I love my sister, but I desire a space of our very own. I want that for my children.
*More structure and planning and training for my business. I want to be able to bless more people in the new year, so I am writing out more focused and detailed plans in order to make this a reality.
*Practice Generosity daily with my giving, my heart, my talents, and more.
I am so excited for the new year.
However, I know some of you may be feeling a little overwhelmed as you write out your hopes and dreams. You feel as though you are being assaulted with every fitness plan, diet plan, business opportunity at every turn. I get it. I truly do. Heck, I have a business where I am currently advertising and inviting. I am grateful that for now, we live in a country where we can have these types of opportunities to be able to better our lives, physically and/or financially.
But as a reminder, you don't have to do it all. Be kind to yourself this next year. You don't have to lose 50 pounds in three months just because someone else did. Good for her! That doesn't have to be you. Be kind to yourself and your own journey, and take care of you. I know your family will appreciate that and want you around. You don't have to become an Instagram sensation in order to be healthy and strong.
You don't have to invest $200 into a business opportunity, simply because the girl you are following on social media tells you that RIGHT NOW is the time or else. Be kind to yourself. If that opportunity is truly an opportunity, your investment, no matter when you decide to take the leap, will be worth it.....because of your heart, your ability to work, and because you believe in it. There is no rush. Whatever your dreams are for yourself, your family and your community, work toward those dreams.
You don't have to take part in every end of the year sale that presents itself in order to feel and look good in the New Year. More clothes won't equal happiness. (Talking to myself here! A shopping lover needs to be reminded of this every once in awhile). You don't need the latest gadgets or tools or planners. They are lovely to have. They are fun. Nothing wrong with it. But, be kind to yourself if you can't right now. You are still fabulous, wonderful, capable and amazing.
I can go on and on, but I think you get the idea. This new year, this brand new decade, be kinder to yourself. Let go of the pressure to do it all, be it all, have it all, and keep up with the joneses. Let's talk kinder to ourselves and to our families. Let exercise so that we can heal and feel good, instead of trying to look a certain way (or get revenge on that ex! It never works out anyway. Better to just take a que from Lizzo and walk your cute bootie out the door owning your fabulousness).
Let's take part in opportunities and businesses that allow us to not just bless ourselves, but bless the socks off of others.
Let's how more grace, love, hope, boldness and kindness in 2020.
Rooting you on, sister friends. Happy New Year!
Tiffany
